The authors

Shaz and Alli met in late 2002. They instantly bonded over roots in the Cariboo, common childhood experiences and friends and a love of knitting. They now live in separate provinces but share a passion for crafting, especially fiber arts. Best friends, they try to get together for visits often and usually spend their time scouring thrift stores and yarn shops for inspiration. It sounds innocent enough but they have each accumulated quite the collection of yarns and fiber!

About Alliston:

Avid knitter Alliston is crazy in love with fibre. Until recently yarn was something bought in a store, but now it comes from fluffy sheep, goats, rabbits, camels and even the family dog.  Come get dizzy with Alliston in her adventures in spinning, knitting, crochet, weaving and everything fluffy.

About Shaz:

Mother to an energetic and busy toddler, fiber arts has become the perfect creative outlet with little mess. Shaz learned to knit stockinette from her Memère (great-grandma) when she was a teenager. Since then, she has learned to crochet and even spin her own yarn (Thanks to Alli!). Her latest addiction is creating inspired toques for kids and writing her own patterns.

This site is about sharing a love of crafting and art. We reserve the right to post anything we deem artistic here. Don’t be surprised if you see knitting and crochet, weaving and spinning, sewing, baking, drawing, painting, patterns and pretty much anything we like.

Most of what you may find will be made by our very own hands; however, we are fans of shiny things and tend to collect. If we like it, we may share it! (Not to mention that Alli, in particular, has a family filled with talented crafters and artists. We will promote shamelessly!)
